Ice Cream Cake and Bakugans

Here it is again...that time of year for resolutions. Last year I started this blog in the hopes of it becoming a daily thing. I am sad to admit that it was pushed aside, but so is life with three little boys. Today we celebrated my middle son's 4th birthday. So much fun! Complete with ice cream cake and Diego and Bakugans ;)
Truly, that is how I knew I was old for the first kindergartener came home talking about these Bakugans and I had NO idea what he was talking about! Wow...I am so old I'm out of the "loop" when it comes to the cool new toys! But I've caught on and now I even think they are pretty cool myself! They are like Pokemon and Transformers all in one...who comes up with this stuff??? It is a full time job keeping up with these boys, between school projects, learning ABCs, and of course the joys of sharing. Last of which is not going so smoothly in this house I might add ;)

So this year I will not be making some lofty New Years resolution to be keeping up with this blog everyday. Instead I will be keeping up with my boys as best I can, and will save the blog for those days I feel nostalgic for their baby days. I know, I can't even believe I'm saying it because it doesn't feel like that long ago that I was praying for them to sleep through the night and here I am... sad that they are growing up so fast. I see the ladies in the grocery store looking at my boys and I, smiling this knowing smile...and now I get it. They are smiling because they know that in the moment you overlook those little tiny details that make everything worth living. My wonderful, amazing (and now) 4 year old tells me everyday "I like you so much Mama".

And that is it. That is what it is all about.

  1. aww, happy birthday!
My 15 yr-old son still has rescue heroes and pokemon on his desk, but I still feel old. Time flies when you're having fun!
